Born as Richard Alpert a Psychologist, Harvard professor and Psychedelic researcher, turned spiritual teacher and author, Ram Dass embodied the counterculture of the 60s and 70s. Upon finding himself unsatisfied with his life, Alpert left during the late 60s for India. Where he met and followed the Maharajji who bestowed the name of Ram Dass (servant of God). Bringing back his new found knowledge and teachings in 1974 after the Maharajji's death. Dass Sharing his teachings by giving lectures but reaching masses with his book Be Here Now selling 2 million copies offering readers a delightful alternative guide to finding connection to their higher consciousness.
